Our Business

We started Blaze's Pony Express in 2006 because we love ponies, kids and teaching children about ponies! We are a small family run business, choosing to do only one or two hour jobs so as not to overtire or stress the ponies.

Who We Are

Bonnie Reid is a Registered Nurse and long time pony and horse lover. She especially loves ponies for their personality and mischievous nature.

Lainie Reid is Bonnie's daughter and also an avid horse person. She is a volunteer firefighter and loves all animals.  She also plays a mean bluegrass fiddle. 

Blaze,our first pony, a small Shetland, came from a working life as a cart pony with the Amish in Ohio. He enjoys playing with the other ponies and just hanging with the horses.

Peanut is our other small Shetland pony. He was rescued from a cow farm, where he had little to eat and had to drink out of a dirty pond.

Snowflake, named for the white spots covering her fur, arrived on a very hot summer day. She is our largest pony and can be ridden by moderate sized adults. She LOVES attention-like pets and hugs. Unfortunately her previous owner did not recognize that she had a serious eye infection which led to a bad cataract and blindness in one eye.

Summer is our newest addition. She is a three year old tri-colored paint pony. She will be in training for a while to learn the ropes. 

Our goal is to bring joy to you and your children while teaching about humane care of ponies and horses
